Samsung Display looks to be going all in on QD-OLED displays after it was revealed that the manufacturer is set to increase production of panels equipped with this technology by a whopping 50%.
According to the think tank UBI Research (via About OLED), Samsung Display will increase production of QD-OLED panels from the current 30,000 units per month to 45,000 in 2024.
This is in stark contrast to LG’s display, which makes a traditional OLED panel found in virtually all of the best OLED TVs available today, which has reportedly halted investment in manufacturing improvements in 2023. This means traditional OLED prices are likely to The TVs are set to freeze, opening up an opportunity for the more expensive QD-OLED technology to drop in price faster and start catching up with the market.
Samsung Display also stopped production of LCD TV panels in June last year, freeing up production capacity for QD-OLED screens.
Samsung Display currently only offers QD-OLED TV panels in three sizes: 55-inch and 65-inch, as seen on the Samsung S95B and the class-leading Sony A95K, and now in the recently launched 77-inch variant. But the production targets mentioned in the UBI report suggest an even wider selection of screen sizes could be on the way from the company next year.
Analysis: Increase in production means more QD-OLEDs… and possibly lower prices
Thanks to recent advances in black levels, QD-OLED TVs now look like real competitors as an alternative to OLED TVs in terms of performance.
The biggest obstacle to implementing this technology is currently the high asking price of panel-mounted TVs – based on the early pricing of the Samsung S95C, it looks like this is the first 77-inch QD-OLED TV to be more expensive than the equivalent flagship LG G3 TV.
Apart from Samsung, only Sony has decided to use QD-OLED panels in its 4K TVs at the time of writing, but this latest news is likely to open the door for a wider range of brands to adopt the technology in the coming years.
Economies of scale mean that the more units Samsung Display produces, the lower the cost per unit becomes, meaning the TVs themselves can be sold cheaper while still generating profits. And that means more companies like TCL will get in on the QD-OLED action, which means they’ll be competing on price, pushing prices down even further.

WITH Resident Evil 4 With a remake in less than a few months, fans are wondering how faithful it will be to the original game.
For a single split mechanic, not so much. The Resident Evil 4 The remake, which will debut on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on March 24, completely abandons the fast-paced events of the original version. In an exclusive with Game Guide (opens in a new tab)Capcom confirmed that more essential gameplay elements, such as side quests and new types of enemies, will appear in their place.
These side quests will be scattered throughout the environment as collectible leaflets to encourage exploration. They offer different objectives such as killing certain enemies or solving various riddles and puzzles. Those few side quests that the original game had, such as shooting a set of blue medallions, will also return.

New types of enemies will debut in the game Resident Evil 4, too, one of whom was a corpulent peasant donning the disembodied head of an ox. And I imagine that the village won’t be the only location where completely new enemy variants can be found. Hopefully, the castle’s zealot forces and militarized islanders will also get new privates.
The Resident Evil 4 The remake, however, does not stray too far from the roots of the game, for better or for worse. It looks like Ashley’s role in the game will remain the same. At least when it comes to Leon, who has to protect her from the hordes that are chasing her.
A strong tip for the future

Quick events were an essential element of the original Resident Evil 4, and in many cases were not just a cheap substitute for more meaningful gameplay. In fact, their absence from the remake is an indisputable indication that some encounters may play out quite differently.
Engage in an intense knife fight scene with Krauser. In the original game, this is a cutscene that requires the player to enter several button commands within very tight time limits. A failure means having to restart the entire scene from scratch.
It’s pretty obvious it’s not going to play out the same way given the removal of Quick Events. This could mean that the encounter was reworked into a more engaging boss fight, or (hopefully not) removed altogether. Their absence also points to other meetings requiring a change in the remake.
Take, for example, the scenes where Leon has to sprint away from a boulder. Or having to dodge the quick swipes of the xenomorph boss Verdugo’s tail. Cases like this will likely change in the remake, and hopefully for the better.
I’m also very curious to see what variety Capcom brings Resident Evil 4 world with new side quests. There really isn’t much to talk about in the original game other than the aforementioned medallion collection and shooting ranges. It will be interesting to see what challenges the remake will throw at us.

One sec redfall skips the last-gen Xbox One, anyone who hasn’t yet upgraded to Microsoft’s latest console can access it via Xbox Cloud Gaming as well (provided you have an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, of course).
Arkane’s co-op shooter was originally supposed to come out in “Summer 2022”, but Bethesda announced (opens in a new tab) in May 2022 that the co-op shooter was delayed to “the first half of 2023”. The announcement also revealed this Starfieldhas been delayed. According to Bethesda, these delays were due to the Arkane Austin and Bethesda Game Studios teams having “incredible ambitions for their games, and we want to make sure you get the best, most polished versions of them.” A new confirmed May 2 release date was then revealed during Xbox and Bethesda’s Developer Direct presentation on January 26.

Redfall history and setting
redfallThe company’s website provides a brief synopsis of the game’s history, scenery, and amazing characters that inhabit the world.
The vampiric enemies in the game are actually science experiments gone awry. These creatures have sealed off the city redfall from the rest of the world, blocking out the sun.
The vampires are joined by the human faction that worships them, as seen in the debut trailer. As such, it looks like we’ll often have to face both types of enemies – and possibly several others – at the same time in gunfights.

IN redfall, you choose from four playable heroes, each with their own unique personality and abilities, to take on a legion of blood-sucking vampires. These skills can be upgraded as you progress, and you can experiment with different playstyles and equipment. Here are four characters you’ll be able to choose from – and their descriptions by Bethesda (opens in a new tab):
Layla Ellison: A biomedical engineering student who interned at a research facility where something went very wrong, leaving her with intense telekinetic abilities.
Jacob Boyer: Former military sharpshooter turned private contractor. Strange events about redfall left Jacob with a mysterious vampire eye and a spectral raven that is never far from him.
Remi de la Rosa: A brilliant combat engineer who spent his entire life at the front. With the help of her robotic cohort, Bribón, she is determined to help save lives redfallsurvivors.
Devinder Crousley: Cryptozoologist and aspiring inventor. Armed with a weapon of his own design, he is on a mission to prove himself.
Redfall game
redfall is a story-driven, open-world first-person shooter that boasts “the greatest setting in Arkane history.”
According to the official website, redfall will seamlessly combine “single and multiplayer options, allowing the player to venture into the darkness alone or team up with up to three friends in four-player co-op.” The use of the word “seamlessly” suggests that a drop-in cooperative system could be implemented. redfallwhich would allow players to join someone else’s game without having to go back to the main menu – however, this has not been confirmed.
However, Arkane has confirmed that when playing in co-op, players will be able to play as any character, regardless of whether a teammate has already selected them. This means you can all play as Layla, for example, if you want. However, if you prefer to go solo, that is also an option.
The types of vampires you will face redfall from lower level minions to godlike bloodsuckers that can eclipse the sun. In between, you’ll face the Angler, who uses a psychic harpoon to lure players away from their teammates, and the Watcher, a terrifying vampire who perches at vantage points to keep an eye out for intruders. But it’s not just vampires you need to worry about. These vampires have gained a small army of loyal cultists who have set up bases and patrol routes all over the island.
In order to free the city from these big bad guys, you will have to go from district to district clearing out cultist operations and vampire nests. In each district you will find a safe house where you can set up a shop – although it is not clear what exactly you will be able to do there.
Each district has a vampire deputy that you must kill to reclaim the area. Once you do that, you’ll get their skull, which acts as a sort of key. Collect enough skulls and you’ll unlock a fight with one of the vampire gods. But the gods won’t let you get to them that easily, and every time you kill tons of vampires, they’ll summon the dreaded “Tower” to punish you.
We also know that outside of the main campaign, “meetings” await you and your team. You can approach them any way you want: sneaky and coordinated or all guns blazing.

How similar redfall to other Arkane games? At the 2022 Xbox Games Extended presentation, Bethesda’s Pete Hines explained redfallsimilarities and differences to Arkane developer’s previous work. Specifically, Hines explained that while redfall contains elements of co-op, you can still enjoy the single-player gameplay.
“At first glance, it’s a first-person shooter that can be played solo or with up to four players, so you can immediately tell that it’s not a single-player game, so it must be wildly different,” said Hines. “And don’t get me wrong, there are absolutely different ways, but as people play the game, and even as they see more of the game, I think they’re going to start seeing all these things about the Arkane game that they love and appreciate.”
“If you want to play the game yourself and get a great Arkane story, you can absolutely do it redfall but you can also do things you weren’t able to do in Arkane, like relive it with your friends and learn how the whole can become more than the sum of its parts, like playing with each character’s abilities,” continued Hines. “I think the more people appreciate it, the more you’ll want to try and play it redfall several ways. You may want to play a little by yourself, play with others, and it’s a game that allows you to do one or both of these things, however you see fit.
Comparisons to Left 4 Dead During the Xbox Games Extended presentation, Bethesda’s Pete Hines also addressed the comparisons between the two redfall and co-op shooters like Left 4 Dead.
“If you’re watching combat footage, for example, you can look at Left 4 Dead or Back 4 Blood or any of those things and say ‘oh, I see a lot of characters facing a group of enemies, so it’s the same game,'” said Hines . “But I think it would be a disservice that it’s all that happens in between a fight as well as the fight itself, combining different skills and abilities the way you do it…these are things Arkane does it really bring that extra a special element that makes their games so compelling.”
It’s no secret that Peacock is the black sheep of the streaming family. While Netflix and Disney Plus have extensive and excellent back catalogues, Peacock’s lack of high-end originals has led viewers to reject it in favor of its more popular cousins.
Now, though, streamer NBC Universal has a truly fantastic TV show to rival its peers: Poker face. Rian Johnson’s idea (Knives outside, star Wars), Poker face is a sensationally good comedy series about a detective who will do more than fill Knives outsidein the shape of emptiness in your life. In fact, I’d go so far as to say it’s the best Peacock show ever – and one that will convince you to finally sign up for the service. Make sure you know how to watch Poker Face from anywhere in the world.
The truth is out there

Poker face stars Natasha Lyonne (Russian doll) as Charlie Cale, a drifter who possesses the seemingly supernatural ability to detect lies. Or, to use Cale’s catchphrase, when someone “fucks” her.
When Charlie is inadvertently involved in the death of a casino owner, she is forced to flee to elude the casino’s head of security and hitman, Cliff LeGrand (Benjamin Bratt). Along the way, Charlie becomes embroiled in case-of-the-week mystery murders, allowing her to regularly, albeit reluctantly, put her innate ability to good use.
Given Johnson’s commitment – Poker face this is his first television appearance – there are striking similarities between Charlie and Knives outsideis Benoit Blanc. The duo are extraordinary detectives, but they are not as emotionally detached from, say, Sherlock Holmes. Instead, it’s their “ordinary people” personalities – along with their comically inept ability to get caught up in murder-based escapades – that make Charlie and Blanc likable, funny.
However, this is where the similarities end. Where Knives outside and his successor – glass onion – are positioned as detective stories inspired by Agatha Christie, Poker face acts as a “howcatch”. This is a commonly used term Columbus-like shows and movies where viewers witness a murder, learn the identity of the perpetrator, and then watch the detective put together a puzzle. Think of it as a reversal Knives outside and *ahem* you’ll deduce what I mean.

Unlike ColumbusCharlie is not your typical investigator. He’s basically a walking lie detector rather than a skilled detective, which isn’t very useful when it comes to solving complex murders. Still, Charlie’s sheer determination to uncover the truth (with the help of some excellent supporting characters, but more on those later) and her ability to spot people’s lies make her incredibly effective at the job she would be made for.
Hi Poker facehis ability to engage the audience in his mysteries is also an incredible charm.
Yes, we see each murderer carry out his crime, so we’re already one step ahead of Charlie when it comes to knowing the culprit. However, eagle-eyed viewers may see signs pointing to the killer’s motives, carefree discarding of evidence, and other pieces of the puzzle Charlie must uncover in order to solve the mystery. This makes it fun to watch with the participants, especially when some seemingly important clues turn out to be red herrings.
There were a few situations where I thought I had solved the events leading up to the murders in separate episodes, only to have that evidence redundant. They made me leave ridiculously stupid, but that’s part of it Poker facecharm. It wants to subvert your expectations of a detective-based series, and the inclusion of bluffs usually shows how intelligently it has been put together.
Deepening the investigation

Poker faceA clever and intricate narrative is woven throughout the run – at least during the six entries I’ve seen so far. Sure, it’s primarily positioned as a catch, but it’s a genre tapestry that borrows from thrillers, horrors, and slapstick comedies to set itself apart from its peers.
It helps that Charlie is an engaging and engaging character. The eccentric, extroverted heroine Lyonne is an on-screen firecracker whose jokes and amazing observations make her instantly likeable. Charlie is by no means an archetypal hero – he forgoes the opportunity to train as a detective throughout the series – but he is nonetheless a benefactor; a feature that makes it worth investing in her journey.
And what a journey. From the story of its origins in the premiere – revealed by guest star Adrian Brody – through to the sixth episode, Poker face will effortlessly convince you to enjoy driving. Charlie’s cross-country trip, all in the name of avoiding Bratt’s Cliff, puts her in a variety of weird and wonderfully funny situations, with each episode acting like a chapter-based pit stop as she rolls her trusty Plymouth Barracuda.

Whether it’s the criminals in question, characters who help Charlie uncover the truth, or just page-splitting episodes, Poker facethe supporting team are as eccentric, disturbing, and endearingly dislikeable as can be.
From the selfish Sterling Frost Brody and quirky trucker Hong Chau Marge, to the delightfully devilish Taffy Lil Rey Howery and timid FBI agent Simon Helberg, Luca, Poker face is full of stars. Each of the show’s 40 well-known actors provides plenty of humor, drama, action, horror, sadness, and likeness to their characters.
The incredible charm of Poker Face lies in its ability to involve the audience in its mysteries
They brilliantly bounce off Charlie Lyonne, regardless of the depth of their conversations Poker facealso leads the way, chewing through the scenery and delivering insanely funny moments. Few creators could turn a restaurant scene with a fox logo of a truck driver or canine sidekick who loves to listen to xenophobic radio stations into hilarious must-watch television. Johnson, co-hosts Nora and Lilla Zuckerman, and Poker faceThe wider team of writers, however, absolutely achieved it. I guarantee you will laugh at least three times (if not more) per episode.
No matter how much good Charlie does, the constant threat of Bratt Cliff ensures she will never be safe. This is not a show where a heroine can wander around the United States solving murders and making friends. With Cliff on his tail, Charlie always looks over her shoulder; a later, elaborate cat-and-mouse game adding constant suspense.

Poker face it’s not a total knockout. The anthology-based style of its episodes means some entries are weaker than others, with narrative consistency and sometimes irritating character decisions among my complaints.
The show’s broadcast schedule – four episodes released on premiere day – means that by the fourth installment, I was already a little tired of the Poker Face formula. Sure, Episode 4’s story was still largely entertaining, but its expository storyline and other creative flaws (like the convenient nature of Charlie’s arrival) took away some of its enjoyment. WITH Poker facethe remaining episodes will be released weekly from now on, hopefully these issues will resolve themselves.
my verdict
Poker face seems to be a turning point for Peacock. NBCU Streamer isn’t the best streaming service in the world, and that’s mainly due to the lack of unmissable movies and shows.
However, Rian Johnson’s inaugural TV series could be a Peacock spin. In a similar way Stranger things turned Netflix into the most popular streamer in the world, or Ted Lasso made it worth signing up for Apple TV Plus, Poker face Is the a show that will change the fate of Peacock.
Fans of Johnson’s previous work will come for his signature style. Some viewers will be intrigued by comparisons to Knives outside. Other viewers may even be attracted to the aesthetics of the 70s and references to the bygone era of detective stories. Combined, these elements create Poker face one of the most surprising (and best!) shows of 2023 so far – and you can bet I’ll be back for more comedy misadventures with Charlie if Poker face gets another season or two.

Poker Face now airs on Peacock in the US and City TV Plus in Canada. It’s currently unavailable in the UK and Australia, but if released in those territories it will likely land on Now TV (UK) and Stan (Australia).
Google Fi customers have been notified via email of “suspicious activity” that may have revealed lower risk data.
Ironically, Google Fi promises to be a “private and secure” calling plan that gives subscribers access to unlimited data, end-to-end call encryption, VPN access and more for $50 per month (single user).
Perhaps less secure, however, is its “major network provider”, which has informed Google that “a third-party system containing a limited amount of Google Fi customer data” is at risk. The unidentified network provider is likely to be T-Mobile, given that it runs a large portion of Google Fi’s network and also experienced a data breach at the same time.

Google told its customers that data, including account activation, mobile service plan details, SIM card serial numbers and account status, were among the key areas said to be at risk.
It emphasizes that personal information is excluded from the breach, so everything from the customer’s name, contact details and date of birth to financial information and login details should be kept safe.
Google’s incident response team says Google’s systems were not compromised but worked with a “major network provider” to implement security measures.
Clients don’t have to do anything and their services run normally.
One anyway Reddit (opens in a new tab) a user claims to have received an email from Google Fi notifying them that their cellular service had been transferred from their SIM card to another for almost two hours.
The author discusses how a hacker gained access to their primary email account, financial account, and authenticator app, who was able to bypass SMS-based authentication and gain access to personal accounts.
Google did not immediately respond to TechRadar Pro’s request for comment on the matter.

One change you may have noticed is – as leaked before the announcement – that the minimum storage model has been increased from 128GB to 256GB – and if you’re in the US, you’re not being asked to pay more than what you would pay for a new Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra with only 128 GB of memory. The 512GB model is actually $20 cheaper than its predecessor, while the 1TB storage variant is $20 more than before (and only available on Samsung.com).
In the UK, you’re a little underwhelming compared to the price of the S22 Ultra. While you’re paying the same this year as last year for the 256GB Samsung Ultra, it’s now the entry-level option, with the 512GB and 1TB S23 Ultra models going for £70 more and £100 more respectively.
In Australia, the 256GB Ultra costs $50 less than last year, making this a relatively good deal, while the 512GB model costs $100 more and the 1TB model $200 more.

Very similar design to the S22 Ultra

If you were hoping Samsung would change the look of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra compared to the S22 Ultra, you’ll be disappointed to find out that both phones look virtually identical.
The rugged aluminum alloy housing still houses the hidden S Pen and has a robust IP68-certified dust and water rating (meaning it offers complete dust protection and should withstand a drop in a puddle or kitchen sink), provided you you’ll pick it up pretty quickly).
Its 6.8-inch screen (with a resolution of 3088 x 1440 pixels) should also be fairly scratch-resistant as it is made of Corning’s latest Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
As for colors, you can choose the Ultra in one of four finishes: Phantom Black, Cream, Green and Lavender in most stores; however, if you want a new phone in Red, Sky Blue, Graphite or Lime, you will need to head to the official Samsung store.

As rumored before the premiere, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra was equipped with a custom Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy chipset. We’ll have to test the phone properly to see how it performs, but the leaked Galaxy S23 benchmark result showed that Samsung’s new chip isn’t too far behind the Apple A16 chip used in the iPhone 14 Pro (and it apparently was on based on its performance in the base Galaxy S23).

Mobile gamers will appreciate the Adreno GP chipset, which promises to provide ray tracing for improved visuals (such as better reflections and more realistic shadows in supported titles), as well as 25% faster performance compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
We also know that while the base S23 Ultra with 256GB of storage only has 8GB of RAM, both the 512GB and 1TB models will come with 12GB of RAM, which is similar to what we’ve seen with the S22 Ultra.
Finally, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will run on the Android 13 operating system, giving you access to all the features of the latest Google software.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: Display
Apart from a slightly flatter screen around the edges, the S23 Ultra’s display is very similar to that used by its predecessor. As before, you’ll get a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a resolution of 1440 x 3088 and a dynamic refresh rate that can be scaled from 1Hz to 120Hz – automatically adjusting to focus on power efficiency or visual fluidity as required.
We’ll have to spend a little more time with the device, but in our testing so far we’ve found the color and brightness of the display to be a solid viewing experience. Samsung tells us that the new displays have been tuned to offer more accurate colors even when competing with lots of ambient light thanks to the Advanced Vision Booster, although on paper the phone’s maximum brightness isn’t quite as high as Apple’s iPhone 14 Professional.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: cameras
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra had highly respectable cameras, but they weren’t much of an upgrade over the S21 Ultra in terms of hardware. This is not the case with the S23 Ultra – at least not with the main sensor.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra looks like a photographer’s dream thanks to its new 200MP main camera, which we suspect may be the ISOCELL HP2 that our camera editor Tim Coleman analyzed a few days before the launch of the S23 series. It also has a 12-megapixel ultra-wide and a 3x and 10x 10MP dual telephoto lens that look similar to those on the S22.
In comparison, the S22 only offered users a 108MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide snapper, and two 10MP telephoto lenses.
Even if the non-primary lenses are quite similar, the S23 Ultra’s other camera upgrades are designed to give your photos an edge. First, Samsung boasts that the S23 Ultra’s Nightography has been improved, with stabilization for photos and videos (with the latter being improved by a new optical image stabilization system that boasts twice the angular movement of what came before).

Finally, as with all S23 smartphones, the front camera has been upgraded to a 12MP snapper, which should help you take higher quality selfies than before.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: Battery Life
The battery in the Samsung S23 Ultra is on paper almost identical to that of the 2022 model, with both smartphones boasting 5000 mAh cells. However, Samsung claims that its new hardware performance and improved software integration make the Galaxy S3 Ultra 20% more efficient with its power, allowing it to extend the life of that battery.
We haven’t been able to verify this ourselves in our own tests, but we’ll be sure to provide details in our full review.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 is the first major phone launch of 2023 and – having been announced alongside the Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra on February 1 – it won’t be a surprise to learn that it’s likely to be one of the best phones money can buy this year year.
The vanilla model in Samsung’s latest Galaxy lineup isn’t a monumental upgrade over its predecessor, the Galaxy S22, but a minor design change – and one very significant upgrade under the hood – makes the Galaxy S23 a worthy competitor to similarly more expensive phones like the iPhone 14 and Google Pixel 7 Pro.
On the design front, both the Galaxy S23 and its larger sibling, the S23 Plus, forgo the S22’s convex metal outline in favor of the S22 Ultra’s individual camera lenses, although the phone is essentially the same size and weight as its predecessor.

Instead of inheriting the S22 Ultra’s impressive sensor and 108MP sensor, Samsung opted to leave the S23’s sensor largely unchanged, meaning it still has a 50MP wide-angle lens, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and an optically stabilized 10MP 3x zoom camera optical. The front camera is only 12MP, though it’s still an upgrade from the S22’s 10MP selfie camera.
The main upgrade of this phone is the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset which is the real highlight of the Galaxy S23 and its bigger sibling.

Samsung unveiled the Samsung Galaxy S23 alongside the Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra on its own Galaxy unpacked February 1. The phone can be pre-ordered now, and it will ship on February 17.

Almost identical design to last year’s Galaxy S22
The tumor of the apparatus has disappeared
The design of the Samsung Galaxy S23 largely mirrors that of the Galaxy S22, with the exception of the island of raised metal surrounding the latter’s camera array, which is now non-existent.
Without the outline, the Samsung Galaxy S23’s three rear cameras float in the upper left corner of the 6.1-inch Gorilla Glass Victus 2 brushed back. The front is also Gorilla Glass Victus 2, but glossy instead of brushed.

At 5.8 x 2.8 x 0.3 inches, the Galaxy S23 is essentially the same size and weight (168g) as its predecessor (almost exactly the same size as the iPhone 14 Pro), although the power and volume buttons – which are made from recycled materials for the first time – are located slightly lower. The bottom of the phone features a USB-C port, microphone holes, speaker grill, and a physical SIM slot.
The S23 Plus shares the same design philosophy as its smaller sibling but comes in a larger 6.2 x 3 x 0.3 inch size. Not surprisingly, it also weighs a bit more (1.3 ounces more to be exact).
Both the Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus are available in four colors: Phantom Black, Green, Lavender and Cream. However, Samsung will also be releasing some exclusive colors like red through Samsung.com.
As you’d expect from high-end phones, the entire Samsung Galaxy S23 lineup is rated IP68, which means the vanilla S23 is water and dust resistant.

Same 6.1-inch AMOLED display as the Galaxy S22
The Samsung Galaxy S23 has the same 6.1-inch 120 Hz (2340 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display as its predecessor, the Galaxy S22. Its bigger siblings, the S23 Plus and S23 Ultra, have 6.6-inch and 6.8-inch displays respectively, with the latter display running at a resolution of 3088 x 1440 pixels.
As mentioned, the Samsung Galaxy S23’s display is surrounded by a glossy Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which should offer a reasonable level of protection against everyday scuffs and scrapes.

The Samsung Galaxy S23’s rear camera setup includes a 50MP f/1.8 wide-angle lens with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10MP f/2.4 telephoto lens with OIS and 3x optical zoom. On the front of the phone is a 12-megapixel selfie camera that can record video in resolutions up to 4K.
Nightography has been improved over the Samsung Galaxy S22 and the phone’s Expert Raw mode now supports 50MP photos (where the S22 only supported RAW images up to 12MP).
The S23 Plus shares all of the above with its smaller sibling.

Custom made Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor
Despite the rather crude upgrades on the rest of the phone, the Galaxy S23’s impressive credentials under the hood are perhaps its biggest draw.
All three Galaxy S23 models support Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform for Galaxy, a specially designed version of the standard mobile processor overclocked to 3.36GHz. In theory, this super-fast processor enables the S23 (and S23 Plus) to rival Apple best iPhones (with A16 Bionic chips) in terms of power, although we haven’t had a chance to properly test the device yet.

Unfortunately, none of the phones in the S23 line support any form of satellite connectivity – which comes as a surprise considering both the S23 and S23 Plus pair a custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with a satellite-compatible X70 5G modem.
As mentioned, the Galaxy S23 comes in two storage variants, 128GB and 256GB, and both versions come with 8GB of RAM. The S23 comes in 256GB and 512GB variants, again with 8GB of RAM each.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 has a decent enough 3900 mAh battery, which is 200 mAh larger than the Galaxy S22 counterpart.
The phone supports 25W wired super fast charging, wireless fast charging and PowerShare wireless charging so you can charge other Galaxy devices (e.g. Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro) in the back.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus has a slightly larger 4700mAh battery (due to its larger size) and more powerful wired charging (45W).

Every phone in the Samsung Galaxy S23 line comes with Android 13 “Tiramisu” and Samsung One UI 5.1. Lenovo has revealed details of its latest all-in-one video conferencing system, which it says will suit a wide range of setups, including hot desks, phone booths, executive desks and home offices.
The company took to the stage in Barcelona at ISE 2023 to unveil its latest project, which is called the ThinkSmart View Plus display powered by Microsoft Teams.
At first glance, it looks like it’s packed with features to give you the ultimate in video call quality and an attractive modular upgrade setup, all for a relatively reasonable amount of money.

Most of the interaction is likely to occur on the 27-inch 1920x1080p multi-touch display (note the distinct lack of 4K), although it does have USB-A and -C, HDMI, DisplayPort, and Ethernet ports for connecting to other devices. IT departments with limited desk space will also appreciate the fact that they can be mounted with a VESA mount.
While there is a 3.5mm audio jack, a pair of 5W stereo speakers adorns the bottom of the display. These (which come in one neat device) and the 4K webcam are detachable and upgradable. This modular approach is designed for businesses that need to spend less on hardware upgrades.
Inside the device there are four microphones, a Qualcomm QCS8250 SoC processor with Wi-Fi 6 support and an Android-based operating system.
Lenovo expects the ThinkSmart View Plus to be available in “select markets” by mid-2023 and is expected to cost $2,345. TechRadar Pro asked Lenovo whether it plans to expand its ThinkSmart View lineup with improved display sizes and resolutions, and further accessories and enhancements.
Besides, its previously announced ThinkSmart One and controller will be available this month starting at $2,899 and the ThinkSmart One with IP controller starting at $3,100 in Q1 2023.
The annual Samsung Unpacked event has come to an end – and as expected, we were greeted with the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S23 series. But while these three phones, including the S23 Ultra, made headlines, there were also plenty of interesting support acts.

The vanilla Samsung Galaxy S23 may not have been the most exciting teaser on Unpacked, but it has all the makings of another hugely popular Android phone.
As predicted by the leaks, it has many of the same features as the current Samsung Galaxy S22, including a 6.1-inch FHD+ screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, as well as the same 8GB of RAM (8GB) and rear cameras as previously. This means you get a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide, and a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom.
But there are also changes under the hood, most notably an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor that improves gaming and video skills. The design has also been refined with the arrival of a new, cleaner look. Check out our hands-on Samsung Galaxy S23 review for a closer look.
2. Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus

If you need the space of a 6.6-inch screen, the Galaxy S23 Plus is the new middle child of the series. It provides a new, cleaner look by omitting the raised metal that previously surrounded the camera array, and it has the same purpose-built Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor as its smaller sibling.
Another bonus is the S23 Plus’ base storage boost, which has now increased from 128GB to 256GB. But like last year, the phone also falls between the standard S23 and the flashier S23 Ultra. We would like the S23 Plus to inherit the 108MP main camera from last year’s S22 Ultra.
Still, Samsung hasn’t tried to fix what wasn’t broken in the S22 Plus, and it still has a powerful trio of cameras – you get a 50-megapixel wide, 12-megapixel ultra-wide and a 10-megapixel optically stabilized camera with 3x optical zoom. The front camera is now also 12MP, up from 40MP, allowing you to take 10MP 4-in-1 photos sorted by pixels.

3. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

The star of Samsung’s Unpacked event was the Galaxy S23 Ultra, an incredibly powerful (but also incredibly expensive) flagship phone with a new 200MP main camera.
It’s far from a complete overhaul of its predecessor, but there are slight improvements across the board – including a tougher screen, faster memory and storage, and a more efficient battery.
However, a large part of the presentation was devoted to the system of “professional” cameras. This is the first Samsung phone with a 200MP sensor, the new ISOCELL HP2 that Samsung revealed ahead of launch.
In addition to the phone’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, this powers what appear to be strong upgrades to the S23 Ultra’s low-light performance for both video and photos, but only our full review will be able to gauge how much of the real world it does. differences. 4.Samsung Galaxy Book 3

On today’s Android Unpacked we got not only three smartphones – Samsung also treated creative types with three Galaxy Book 3 laptops.
The most powerful is the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra, which came along with the Pro and Pro 360 versions of the laptop. A big part of the appeal of all three will be their AMOLED screens, and the heavier Galaxy Book 3 Ultra also features the latest mobile processor and graphics card to help it appeal to both gamers and visual creators.
While the price of the Ultra ($2,199.99 / £1,849 – not available in Australia) is quite high, it looks like an intriguing contender for high-end gaming laptops and ultrabooks. You can read about it in our hands-on Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Ultra review.

5. One User Interface 5.1

In addition to the new hardware, we also saw new software in the form of One UI 5.1 at the first Unpacked event in 2023.
Long story short, Samsung has made some tweaks to the One UI that comes on top of Google’s Android 13. It’s far from a major redesign, with features including updating the Notes app to make editing and sharing easier.
A larger overhaul along with bug fixes and security tweaks would certainly be welcome, although we could see more major changes with the launch of Android 14 later this year.
What we didn’t see at the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S23

The above is all we saw at the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S23, which means there was a lot that wasn’t there.
First, we didn’t see the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 there, even though the Galaxy Tab S8 series debuted alongside the Samsung Galaxy S22 lineup.
These tablets have reportedly been delayed due to slow sales of the current models, and that’s a plausible claim considering there have been very few rumors about the Tab S9 series.
Other than that, there are other big Samsung products on the horizon, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 6, but new models in these lines are not expected until late 2023, following the old mold. Likewise, timing wasn’t right for some of the new Galaxy Buds.
