Since Netflix often threatens to terminate accounts if password sharing is detected, it’s not surprising that Disney Plus subscribers want to know if account sharing is against the terms of service. Lucky for you, we find out whether Mickey Mouse believes in the “sharing is caring” mantra or not.
It is recognized that some degree of Disney Plus account sharing is inevitable. And this does not stop the development of the platform at all: House of Mouse gathered 7.9 million more subscribers in the first three months of 2022. However, if it turns out that you are serious about Mickey, then at least expect your account to be banned.
Below we will detail what the right number of shared accounts looks like; how to create additional user profiles for loved ones; and the total number of devices you can stream from at any one time.
Disney Plus Account Sharing: What the Terms Say:
There is nothing explicitly condemning sharing a Disney Plus account in Subscriber Agreement (opens in a new tab). Instead, the emphasis is on the account holder’s responsibility to keep this information safe, stating that they, not Disney Plus, will be responsible for any damages resulting from misuse of login details by others.
This is stated in Section 1: User Permissions and Registration, stating: “You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your username and password and for all activity that occurs on or through your Disney+ and ESPN+ accounts. However, if you allow others to access your Disney+ or ESPN+ account, this Agreement, as well as any specific consents you may have given, will also apply to their access, use, and disclosure of information.”
Therefore, Disney Plus is aware that subscribers may give their login details to family and friends. The functionality of the platform basically encourages this as each account can run multiple simultaneous streams from different devices and offers the ability to create up to 7 individualized profiles.
However, if your account starts being accessed from dozens of devices in multiple geographic locations, it is likely to be flagged as “suspicious activity” and could lead to your account being blocked or terminated.
Your password was too slow? You can change it in your account settings and gradually unfreeze your loved ones. Or – a much cooler idea – buy them a Disney Plus gift card for a special occasion.

How do I add someone to my Disney Plus account?
First, you must be a paid Disney Plus member. However, you can check out everything the subscription has to offer in our Disney Plus price guide and the best deals available – spoiler alert – there’s no more Disney Plus free trial.
Then you can create up to 7 user profiles. Each of them stores a person’s viewing history, creates a list of “Featured” titles based on this, and allows them to create their own unique “Watchlists”.
Setting up a personalized profile for a child, partner, parent or friend is easy. Just follow the instructions given below:
- Log in to yours DisneyPlus account (opens in a new tab)
- Click on your avatar
- Select “Edit Profiles”
- Click on the “+” icon “Add Profile”.
- Choose an avatar
- Enter a profile name, then select “Save”
Further personalization includes: disabling/enabling GroupWatch, enabling a child-friendly kids profile (so only content rated TV-Y7FV and G is available), and setting up a 4-digit profile PIN for extra security.
You can delete a profile by clicking “Edit Profiles”, selecting the pencil icon under the respective avatar and selecting “Delete Profile” at the end of this website.
How many devices can you get Disney Plus on?
By sharing your Disney Plus account, you can watch content on four different devices at the same time. This means little ones can watch Muppets Now on a smart TV while Marvel-loving teens enjoy The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on iPad. However, if you get error code 13 when trying to stream your favorite show, it’s likely that more than four people are accessing your account at the same time…
In addition, you can download content to up to 10 mobile devices for offline viewing as well. That way, you’ll never have to endure a dull moment in line at the post office or on your way to work.
As we detail in this article on Disney Plus devices, there are many technologies that are compatible with the Disney Plus app, all of which can be used to stream exciting original TV shows like Ms Marvel and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
